Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.

Tell me about the big guy puking all over the court. I was at Hampton for the games, but missed the hoops. I heard they had to stop the game for 30 minutes.
I felt bad for the big guy. He was 6'9" and a BIG guy.
The East was throwing the ball in under their basket and he was standing in the middle (he was on the West). Then he just bent over...and all these people sitting on the sidelines starting pointing and saying, "ohhhh!" The didn't stop the play. The East scored because almost everyone on the floor was just standing there. And it took a while to get someone to come out there and clean it up. I think Adam said the dude said, "I can't run up and down the floor with these guys..."

They did okay. Didn't get to play too much. Didn't really stay in long enough to get warmed up either. There was a couple of post players on their team that I think played on the same HS team. One was really good (I think West MVP, the other was good, but slow. The one that was slow would get a Defensive board and would never outlet, but instead slowly brought it up the floor. He was annoying. I guess he was afraid to pass it to a quick guard because he would be left behind. And if you pass the ball you don't shoot the ball in that game.

I'm sure even as much as Adam and Dock like to shoot, they took their turn this time at never getting the rock...

I saw the boxscore on Adam and Mark and wasn't surprised that they didn't get to play much. Some of the folks I went with have coached at the All Star games and said that Class A players get little to no respect and that if a coach has several players on his squad, they play most of the time. I believe the players you are referring to played at GW-Danville. Our baseball player was the East MVP and I was preaching the conspiracy theory about why they wouldn't give it to him. Luckily, his third hit in three tries was a three-run homer that won the game for the East. I know there was some controversy at the softball game as well. A player who had never played 2nd base a day in her life was all of a sudden the starting 2nd baseperson and an All State 2nd baseperson was pushed to right field. One of the East coaches started off their practice by saying, "OK, let's see who can throw and catch." Really sh** stuff, in my opinion. All Star games are for kids, not coaches.
Boy. you hit the nail on the head there. Jason Bishop was the leading scorer in the state his senior year, and would not have seen the pines if not for TS' coach Lee Clark. The head coach for the west wasn't at all interested in putting Jason in until Lee pleaded his cause. I think the single A coach should have as much say-so as the AAA coach in games like that.
